The Chamber has nine geographically based divisions which meet on a monthly basis throughout Middlesex County. These divisions focus on local economic development issues and each meeting features an update from local municipal officials. Twice a year, in November and March, our monthly morning division meetings are held during the evening and feature appetizers and networking, with the goal of creating new connections. Meetings occur on the first Wednesday of the month at different locations. This division does not meet in the Summer months of July and August.

Central Business Bureau (CBB)

Meetings occur on the first Thursday of each month at 8:00 a.m. During the meetings, there are City local updates, as well as information about upcoming events.

Meetings occur on the first Thursday of the month at 11:00 a.m., at the Chamber, or you may join via Zoom. This council is a closed council. If you would like more information on how you can get involved please contact Sara Mendillo at [email protected]   The Real Estate Council, under the leadership of Nancy Currlin and Juliet Cavanaugh, create an atmosphere for local realtors to come together for networking, encouraging cooperation, sharing ideas, improving business relations through collaboration, and educational experiences. The council consists of 24 members throughout the county who meet monthly. The main objectives include: continuing education for real estate renewal licenses, promotion of the real estate industry, legislation  and referrals to the Chamber’s Legislative Committee.

The Economic Development Consortium operates with a goal of promoting and supporting a robust and appropriate economic environment in the Middlesex Chamber footprint and in so doing, grow and retain jobs, businesses, and capital investment within our region. This group, made up of local Economic Development Directors and representatives from each town meet on a monthly basis to share ideas, collaborate, and support one another through various projects that affect our region.

Watching a loved one struggle with a mental illness can be difficult. Participants will learn coping tools, importance of self-care, peer-to-peer discussion, listen to guest speakers and learn about helpful community supports and resources.

The Legislative Committee works hard as the chamber’s voice on important public policy issues in the State of Connecticut.  The committee is responsible for creating the chamber’s Public Policy Agenda on a yearly basis, and hosts major legislative events every year. These include: the Legislative Breakfast with the Middlesex County legislative delegation, and four leadership events featuring leaders from each of the legislative caucuses in Hartford. The Legislative Committee will continue to pursue legislation that encourages Connecticut businesses to invest and grow opportunities for good, well-paying jobs.   Meetings occur on the third Friday of the month at 8:00 a.m., at the Chamber, or you may join via Zoom. The Affordable Housing Committee was created to provide a voice for the business community in the important housing based conversations in Middlesex County. The committee includes developers, lenders, realtors, non-profit liaisons, attorneys and other professionals. The committee will continue to work with other key stakeholders in Middlesex County to stress housing as an economic driver, and to be a resource to the chamber at large on housing related issues.   This committee is an open committee!
