Christine O’Keefe is a classically trained figurative artist, having studied drawing and oil painting at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan CT over a period of about 6 years. She has studied privately with talented artists such as Mark Boedges, Steven Assael, as well as Florence Academy trained artists Jennifer Gennari and Jesus Villarreal. Additionally, she has studied extensively with artist Justin Wiest in Wilton CT painting live models, portrait and figures in oil. She was a member of The New Street Guild of Artists a group of women realist artists for about 10 years, while it existed.O’Keefe is a lifetime lover of all animals and an active animal rights advocate. She served on the board of the Humane Society for about 20 years in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Over the past several years, she has devoted more and more of her work to painting animals, especially dogs, horses and wildlife. Christine O’Keefe is a classically trained figurative artist, having studied drawing and oil painting at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan CT over a period of about 6 years. This month's talk will be given by Jay Correia, Clinical Director and Physical Therapist at Professional Physical Therapy in Ridgefield.In his work as a physical therapist, Jay treats patients experiencing a wide range of conditions, from posture-related strain and repetitive stress injuries to recovery following joint replacement and strokes.  This presentation will be an engaging and practical discussion on how everyday habits shape our long-term physical health and how we can be stronger in the future.During the program, Jay will also share what to look for when selecting a physical therapist, including the importance of online reviews, the overall atmosphere and “vibe” of a clinic, and clear goal setting between therapist and patient. Senior Voices is a free event and hybrid program. Next Chapter Book Club is a unique community-based book club program for adolescents (16 & up) and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our members love books for the same reasons most people do: they enjoy being transported to different worlds where they meet interesting characters and learn about exciting new things. Taking that journey with a group of friends makes it even more meaningful and fun.This inclusive book club meets most Mondays in Zoom and is open to anyone who enjoys a good story! Non-readers, non-verbal, emerging readers, fluent/avid readers are all welcome and encouraged to participate at their comfort level.
