Michael Albert Brings his Modern Pop Art Experience & Workshop to Stratford, CT on August 23rd!!! As part of his Summer Pop Art Tour, American Pop Artist Michael Albert will be bringing his nationally known Cereal Box Collage Workshop to the Stratford Library on Saturday August 23rd for a Special Pop Art Making Program. The program will take place from 5:30-7:30pm He will give a short talk & presentation and then lead a Hands-On Collage workshop where participants will have the chance to create their own masterpieces using Albert’s materials of choice, namely Cereal Boxes & other colorful cardboard packages including cookie boxes, cracker boxes, soda cartons & many other well known consumer brands. All participants will receive a free signed poster of one of Albert’s creations as a special gift for joining him in this creative art making session. Limited to 40 people - all ages event! FREE!He will be bringing his nationally renowned “Modern Pop Art Experience” Art programs to over 90 cities in 10 states this summer including: Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York and New Hampshire. Over the past 15 years he has been running this art enrichment program and brought it to over 1,000 libraries, museums, schools, art & community centers in 48 of the United States so far, with only Alaska & Hawaii left to complete the 50! He is truly on a mission to bring the art to the people!He is excited to bring his art & program to Stratford, CT for the first time!

Arlington National Cemetery, one of America's most important historical landmarks, is best known for more than 300,000 graves and famous monuments. But before this beautiful spot on the Potomac became a cemetery, guest speaker Cynthia Parzych had a very interesting history entwined with the early history of the Virginia settlement and some of Virginia's first families including the Custis's, Lees, and Washingtons. Her talk, based on her book on the topic, presents the backstory of this iconic spot and highlights some of the stories of the interesting people who lived and were buried in Arlington National Cemetery.FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
