Winter Walk Day began in Alberta, Canada 2006 to get more Albertans physically active outdoors during the winter. As of 2024, it had grown to over 100,000 participants in Alberta, with more than 28,000 communities and over 800 organizations joining in. It has also spread to many more communities worldwide as a great way to encourage healthy activity. đ LME Library began participating in 2021 to encourage local residents to shake off the winter blahs, get outside, and "Open the Door & Go For It!" âď¸đśââď¸đ§âđŚźđśâď¸ #WinterWalkDay #winterwalkday2024 #WWD2024

With class visits from our local K-4th grades resuming in September, it's a great time to clear students' accounts to ensure they can checkout with their classmates.Simply sign in at the front desk, find a cozy spot to read in the library, and sign out when you're done. Readers will earn *$1.00 in overdue fine forgiveness for every 15 minutes they read in the LME Library.*Credit may not be applied to fines for lost or damaged items.*Must be an LME Library Cardholder to participate.
