Join us for Young Hoosier Book Club for grades 3-5! Every month, we will meet and discuss one of the Young Hoosier Intermediate Nominated books. Each month we will rate the book on a scale of 1-5. In April, our ratings will be submitted to the Young Hoosier Book Award Committee.This month, we will be reading "Emma Just Medium: The Beach Dilemma" by Laura Wiltse Prior. Even though her family calls her Emma Bemma, Emma knows she is really just a dilEmma because she is just medium. That's because she's the middle kid between her two brothers, who everyone calls Big and Little. Big thinks he's the coolest kid on the planet now that he's 10. And everyone thinks Little is just adorable even when he picks his nose! Ugh! What's a middle child to do? Emma has to ride in the middle seat as her family heads out on a weeklong beach vacation with friends, where being just medium will only get worse! Then Emma has an idea. What if she could get out of being in the middle by taking on a new role? What if she acted BIG? Or even bigger than that? Will things go as planned? Or will she have another huge dilEmma?

How to Appeal to CollegesNow more than ever colleges are willing to say 'yes' to appeals for more financial aid and scholarship money for both new and returning students.  This workshop provides detailed guidance for families on how to appeal to colleges for more financial aid and how to improve the likelihood of a successful appeal. Highly recommended for Class of 2026 families.Workshop speakers include high school counselors, financial aid experts, and Certified Financial Planners.  Some workshops may have more than one speaker.Registration is required (one per family only please).  You will be emailed a Zoom link once we receive your registration.

Join us for Young Hoosier Book Club for grades 3-5! Every month, we will meet and discuss one of the Young Hoosier Intermediate Nominated books. Each month we will rate the book on a scale of 1-5. In April, our ratings will be submitted to the Young Hoosier Book Award Committee.This month, we will be reading "Maple's Theory of Fun" by Kate McMillan and Ruthie Prillaman. Sixth grade has been pretty disaster-free for aspiring astronaut Maple McNutt—which is impressive, given the number of worries and possible catastrophes that run through her head every day. (So far, Earth hasn’t been devoured by a black hole and a cockroach hasn’t crawled out of her toothpaste mid-squeeze. Phew!) But when her best friend of seven-point-two years, Sunny Gwon, accuses her of being unfun and starts hanging around with a new group of friends, Maple hatches a plan to win Sunny back.
