Do you have hips, knees, back pain? Want to try yoga but not sure where to start? Join Yogi Erin Penney will help develop and support a routine to meet your needs at Yoga for Every BODY on Wednesdays at 12:00 p.m.! This class is open to all ability and experience levels, whether you're new to yoga, a senior, are mobility challenged, or you're a "desk warrior" wanting to stretch out on your lunch break. Chairs are provided; Mats are optional (please bring your own mat if you want to use one), and wear loose comfy clothes. Class will be held in our new Visitors Center or Woodland Pavilion, depending on weather and space availability. The class will run 1 hour and will include a savasana (cool down). Garden access is included with registration, so feel free to walk the Gardens after class. Save money on your yoga practice with your Wellfield membership and/or our 10-class punch cards, which you can also use for our Saturday classes with yogi Barbara Naranche. Welcome to Tai Chi in the Gardens 2025! Tai Chi is a mind and body discipline coming from the martial arts. Head to toe correct mechanical movement provides physical benefits. The mindfulness of the practice provides cognitive benefits and the meditative aspects of heightened awareness lead to emotional recovery. From active recovery to fall prevention, Tai Chi is good for all fitness levels. Classes will be held outside and are taught by Swan Mishler or Margo Tutorow from Beacon Health & Fitness, and will consist of a walking program of mindful meditation and tai chi practice in various areas of the Gardens. With support from the Community Foundation of Elkhart County, we are pleased to offer free admission to Elkhart County Residents on Tuesdays from April-December from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. You can arrive any time up until our last admission for the day at 5:30 p.m. All guests must exit the Gardens by 6 p.m., no exceptions.  Registration required; proof of Elkhart County residency required for all adults in your party to gain free admission. If you are not an Elkhart County resident, or do not provide proof of residency, you will be subject to admission fees. Photography permit requirements still apply on Tuesdays.  Register HERE

Join us for Bird Walks at Wellfield! The walks are led by Wellfield volunteer and Audubon Society member Mary Kauffman-Kennel, and are open to all ages (parents must accompany minors). The walks usually last 60-90 minutes. This walk is held outside, rain or shine - please dress accordingly. If weather is severe and we need to cancel, we will email all registrants. If you are an Elkhart County resident and want to join us for the Bird Walk, admission today is FREE (proof of residency and registration required). You may do that in person when you arrive or in advance here: Elkhart County Resident Free Day registration If you are a member of another garden that participates in the American Horticultural Society reciprocal program, please register in person.
