The Friends of the Ames Free Library is a nonprofit organization integral to promoting and supporting Library activities and programs, and purchases items not included in the Library’s budget. We hold book sales several times a year and participate in other Library-related events. The Friends Book Shop at Queset House gladly accepts donations of good quality books every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please note: Due to space limitations, we can only accept up to 25 gently used books per donor. Best for mobile toddlers, Wiggleworms Storytime features interactive songs, felt board rhymes, bubbles, and books to keep little ones engaged. Join Miss Alyisha every Tuesday at 10:30 AM. While the weather stays nice, plan to meet in Queset Garden. When the days grow cooler, this program will relocate to the Children's Room. We recommend keeping a blanket and light jacket on-hand. No registration required and all families are welcome. The fall Wiggleworms Storytime session runs from Tuesday, September 16 through Tuesday, December 16. Family Storytime is perfect for preschoolers but fun for the whole family! Sing favorite songs and rhymes, bust a move or two, perfect your animal impressions, and enjoy a few stories each week.
