In this four-week, hands-on class, participants will learn how to play American Mah Jongg following the National Mah Jongg League rules.  Please note - registration requires a commitment to attend all four classes (March 25, April 1, April 8, April 15), as each lesson builds on the previous week.   Attendees of the March 11th introduction session will receive early access to register for this instructional series. Instruction will be led by Adrienne Marshall, who has been playing American Mah Jongg for over 13 years. What began as a personal interest quickly grew into a passion for sharing the game with family, friends, and now as an instructor. Adrienne is a member of the Mahj Life Instructor Guild under Michele Frizzell, a recognized Mah Jongg educator, author, and host of a popular YouTube channel with over 50,000 subscribers. Introducing Willow!  Willow is a therapy dog certified by Dog B.O.N.E.S. Therapy Dogs of Massachusetts. She is a Bernese Mountain Dog who has been doing pet therapy work since April 2022 and she loves working with children. She is so excited to visit TPL!  Kids ages 5-11 can work on their reading skills by booking a 15 minute slot and read out loud to Willow!  This program is for ages 5-11. Registration is required and spots are limited. Please register for the hold list even if the program is full. We may have no-shows and you will be invited to read to Willow. Please bring your own reading materials or borrow one from the Library's collection prior to your time slot. Your reservation is for a 15-minute time slot between 2 and 3 p.m. If you have more than one child, up to two may read to Willow at a time. However, if there are no-shows or fewer than four registrations, you get more time with Willow! Our âLetâs get growingâ series continues, with Judith Taylor from Seeds2Plate! Growing your own food is a rewarding and tasty way to spend a summer in your yard. Itâs also a good way to reduce your grocery bills and provide food for your family in uncertain times. This class covers step by step âhow-toâsâ for selecting, preparing and planting a garden site, and provides tips and tricks for making your garden adventures a success! Judith Taylor has been gardening in Massachusetts for over 25 years and is a graduate of the UMass Green School and Pollinator Stewardship program. She has also attended Seed Savers Exchange Seed School and manages Littletonâs Seed Library. She has hands on experience with growing all sorts of perennials, fruits and vegetables as well as landscape design. Her passion is to share knowledge with new gardeners as well as exchanging tips and tricks with those more experienced. The fiction book club here at TPL will be meeting on the last Wednesday of the month throughout 2026. The main goal of the book club is to break you out of your comfort zone, the genre of the book selected alternating frequently, and sometimes reading books around a central theme. We might read a genre you never thought about picking up before! Different outlooks and reading histories will inspire our conversations, reflecting on similar themes and character dynamics that appear in these various settings, writing styles, and genres; embarking us on a journey to explore the vast diversity that is the book world! No registration required. Copies of each title are available at the circulation desk approximately one month before each meeting.
