Open Jazz Jams are held he first Sunday of every month. The sessions will provide an opportunity for musicians to play with an experienced band. From 1-2 PM the hosting musicians for the week will play. Other musicians will be invited to sit in and play between 2-5 PM (typically a minimum of 2 songs each, circumstances permitting). With the exception of drum kit and piano, all musicians should bring their own equipment (instruments, amps, drum sticks, microphones, etc.). The sessions will focus primarily on jazz standards and other jazz tunes contained in Hal Leonard Real Books volumes 1 through 3. Newcomers will be coached through the process.  A $3 to $5 donation to Flemington DIY will be required from each musician that plays at the session. Visitors that just want to listen to the music are also welcome to attend for all or any part of the 1-5 PM sessions free of charge. Did you know that Flemington has six Little Food Pantries (LFPs)? LFPs are small food pantries that allow community members in need to have open access to food, water, and hygiene items. These pantries depend on the support of donations from people like you! Come together with your community for a monthly food drive to stock four of the pantries. This drive will support the LFPs located at 10 New Jersey Avenue, Flemington DIY (26 Stangl Road), Flemington Presbyterian (10 East Main Street), and Echelon Studio's Personal Hygiene Pantry (27 Fulper Road). Recommended donations: Water bottles Dry goods like box mixes, rice, oatmeal, etc. Granola and protein bars (without chocolate) Coffee and tea Crackers Ramen and pot noodles Instant soup packets Hygiene products (esp. menstrual hygiene products) Individual drink mix packets Shelf-stable milk Packaged or canned tuna and chicken Canned goods and can openers Peanut butter and jelly Please no expired items, open packages, or frozen/refrigerated items. If you know or are learning ASL, come sign with us in a casual and supportive space. Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people are welcome. Calling all Hunterdon County pop/rock/folk stars!  Are you looking for a place to practice your acoustic guitar skills, and maybe do some singing too?   Our merry band of music makers is open to players of all abilities! This gathering however is for Acoustic players ONLY; i.e guitars, ukuleles, mandolins & banjos. A drummer and/or an acoustic/electric bassist would be welcomed though to help us all stay in time. Chords and lyrics to the songs will be projected on a screen so thereâs no need for you to bring a music stand or tablet. We will be selecting tunes from a song book that includes a wide variety of rock/pop/folk classics. Come and have fun with us as we play and sing along to some of everyoneâs favorite tunes!
