The Library's Ms. Michelle will be running a child drop-off event for caregivers who are attending the book club. This will consist of semi-structured activies in the meeting room. You MUST register your children via a phonecall with Alexis at 973-226-5441. No walk-ins will be allowed and caregivers must stay in the book club meeting to utilize this service. Join us for a peer-led interactive writer's group. We will spend some time writing from prompts, stream of conscious writing and other exercises. We will then share one of these writings or something we are working on at home to receive feedback from the group. Each writer will be limited to reading 2 pages per feedback session. Please bring your preferred writing materials (paper & pen, computer, etc). Please note: Patrons arriving after 4:45pm will not be permitted to join the session unless prior arrangements have been made. Contact Alexis to arrange.

The Essex-Passaic Chapter of NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) Connection Recovery Peer Support Group Program meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the West Caldwell Library on 30 Clinton Road. NAMI is the most influential organization devoted to helping people with mental illness and their relatives and loved ones recover and deal with mental health issues. These meetings will be led by people having some form of mental illness. During these meetings, we will conduct peer support though all people interested in this organization are encouraged to attend. You do not have to sign up in advance. All meetings are kept confidential and are led by people specifically trained to conduct these meetings. NAMI Connection is a recovery peer support group program that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope. NAMI Connection groups are:· Free and confidential· Held monthly for 90 minutes · Designed to connect, encourage, and support participants using a structured support group model· Led by trained facilitators living in recovery themselvesThis meeting is for anyone ages 18 who is dealing with their own mental illness or a loved one's. https://nami.org/Home
