Topic this Month: Israel Shorashim is a free, monthly, Sunday morning program for young children ages 0-5, and their parents, grandparents and caregivers. The program brings to life a different Jewish holiday or theme with age-appropriate cooking projects, arts & crafts, stories, songs and other activities. The Hebrew Reading Chug, focused on contemporary Israeli literature, mostly novels, was formed in the 1970s by a group of White Plains residents from local synagogues. Now we continue on Zoom, reading our prepared pages aloud. Our Hebrew backgrounds and skills differ, but all members share a love of the Hebrew language and have some experience reading modern Hebrew. We discuss grammar, vocabulary and content questions that come up on each page. Our Hebrew improves every week.
