All are invited to attend Culpeper Town Council's regular meetings held monthly on 2nd Tuesdays. Meetings are held at 302 N. Main Street with free lot and sidestreet parking available. Detailed agendas   Directions Live stream and video archive Meetings begin with an opening prayer and brief closed session prior to 7pm (check agenda for specific start time.)  The regular meeting begins promptly at 7pm with an agenda that includes a public comment session and topics relating to budget changes, town services, community safety, zoning/ordinance issues, public hearings, policy updates, and staff and committee reports and recommendations. Citizens are encouraged to attend to learn about current town prriorities and to share suggestions, concerns or issues during the public comment section. Join a Cedar Mountain Battlefield guide on a battlefield walking tour and gain insight into the chronology of the battle, learn stories of the soldiers and civilians impacted, and visit battlefield landmarks. The tour explores terrain largely unchanged since the Civil War. Tours are held at 10 am on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. The tour starts at the Cedar Mountain Visitor's Center at 9465 General Winder Road, Rapidan, VA 22733 and typically takes about 45 minutes. The tour route is over uneven terrain and, in both sunny and shaded locations. Comfortable walking shoes, bottled water, and bug spray in the warmer months are advised. Donations are welcome and help support battlefield preservation, stewardship, and education efforts. To register for the tour, please email [email protected].

Aging Together has been honoring the positive impact of older adults for 13 years with the annual 5 Over 50 Celebration.  The regional honor was created to highlight the significant contributions of older adults in each of our 5 counties.  The 5 Over 50 event underscores the fact that age doesn’t mean diminished capacity, and uproots stereotypes incorrectly assigned to older adults. In fact, through years of experience, older adults have singular wisdom that positively impacts our region in many ways including:?? Caregiving for older and younger family members Financial contributions supporting the community at large and causes that matter Job experience that is passed on through mentorship and leadership in the workplace Hours of support to organizations through volunteerism One person (or couple) from each county is honored (Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange & Rappahannock). Nominations are sought at large from the region by mid January and the final five are chosen by committee in late February. The 5 honorees are announced in March. The celebration this year is a banquet at Fauquier Springs Country Club on September 18. Culpeper's Honoree is Sharon Clark (Pepperberries / Pamper Me Pink)!
